What is a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture is a way for people to buy local food directly from farmers in their community. Members pay in advance for a “share” of the harvest and receive a weekly assortment of veggies. This model allows the farmer and members to share the risks and bounty of each growing season.
Why Join?
It’s fun! CSA’s connect you to other people in your community–including your farmers–through food. What better way? Your share will contain a diverse assortment of produce that is ripe for harvest that week, and there are also some crops available for u-pick such as flower and string beans.
Cost
Shares run for 22 weeks from June to November. We offer CSA shares on a sliding scale basis. Full shares are $700 to $900, with an average share price of $800. Half shares are $450 to $650, with an average share price of $550. Those who are able to pay at the higher end of the scale allow us to offer shares to those with more limited resources. What you pay is up to you.
We want this to work for our community! If the price is a barrier, please contact us. We offer payment plans and also have scholarship shares available.
If you want to support a more robust and equitable local food community in Pine Plains, you can donate towards our CSA scholarship fund! Contact us for more details.
